An Italian was among the Chinese students of Occupy Central. Sure, it’s not the most tranquil spot in the world, but witnessing history up close has always been his passion. What’s more, there are few people that know China like he does and blends in without seeming out of place. Pio d’Emilia, Sky Tg24’s Asia correspondent, found Alberto Forchielli on the barricades. Forchielli, the economist from Bologna and managing partner of Mandarin Capital Partners, wanted to see the other face of the “New China” up close. And judging by the tweets Forchielli posted from “Umbrella Square” criticizing Beijing, he wasn’t very happy.
