What we are seeing is only the first battle. This war will go on for a long time. The US plan is not very coherent, but there is one element that I think is worth keeping our eye on. All the talk of tariffs, trade war, etc. makes for an unsettled environment and thus deters further investment in China while actually encouraging non-Chinese investment in the U.S. That kind of a shift in the dynamics of investment could be very important.
